14.10 – Despite the sanctions on the country the country has experienced progress. The El Nino induced drought has left p people vulnerable especially in rural areas and in need of food aid.
14.11 – Let me assure the country that no-one will starve. Let applaud the role played by farmers in feeding the people and agriculture resilience. The country is expecting a record bumper wheat harvest this 2024 season.
14.14 – For the coming season Arda has been given a target of 500 000 tones of grain to build strategic grain reserves.
14.15 – The mining sector continues to perform well. Infrastructure projects have resulted in other spiff of projects. Infrastructure develop will a critical pillar to economic development and create jobs.
14.21 – Power degeneration remained subdued by efforts are to use alternative sources of energy. The ZIG was adopted in May to further economic development. The RBZ has introduced willing seller willing buyer basis. Government will continued to back the currency with royalties to build reserves. We note with disdain the emergency of the parallel market but Government will make sure it will protect the citizens. Radio stations are going on an upgrade to extend then Broadcasting reach.
14.25 – Gvt has put in place robust monitoring on the health care to protect our people. Our citizens are urged to maintain hygienic conditions. Through the Youth Service our youth are participating in developement projects for then vulnerable communities. I comment the ZDF for territorial integrity and sovereignty.
14.28 – My Government will continue to resource the security sector so that they carry the mandate. I want to comment the peopl of Zimbabwe for the successful hosting of the 44th Sadc Summit. Zimbabwe signed two tripatite agreements with Zimbabwe, Botswana and Mozambique for railway line linking the three countries. The other with Zambia and Mozambique for the protection of the wildlife, flora and fauna.
14.32 – Some of them came after my last address and it is the duty of this House to pass them. Occupational health is important for Vision 2030 and the Occupational Health Bill should be expedited. A number protocols need to be ratified. Bilateral compensation came to 94 and show Zimbabwe ‘s commitment to fair co ex is ten with our partners.
14.37 – In conclusion Zimbabwe shall continue to be cradle of peace unity and harmony for our people. Let till our land and all farmers and Commerce working diligently the future of our country is always bright. We all a duty to protect the unity, peace, sovereignty and of freedom bequeathed to us by our founding fathers. Together let’s build our Zimbabwe which we will leave to the future generations.
