Local celebs take over ZiFM

Local celebrities will today take over ZiFM Stereo as they will host shows from 6AM to 6PM as part of World Radio Day celebrations.

Listeners will wake up to the sounds of fashion icons Mbo Mahocs, Craig Zoowie, Gilmore Tee, Arthur Evans, musicians – Tari NeGitare, Shingi Mangoma, Ex Q, Stunner, Hope Masike, Cindy Munyavi, Victor Kunonga and Edith WeUtonga as well as comedian Babongile Sikhonjwa who will be taking care of the Breakfast show between 6AM and 10AM. They will be assisted by ZiFM’s Lady K.

Social commentator Primrose Nomathemba Ndebele, musicians — Jah Prayzah, Ammara Brown, Ba Shupi, Trevor Dongo, Junior Brown, Tehn Diamond, Cynthia Mare, Soul Afrika, Simba Tagz, Sulumani Chimbetu, DJ Stavo and comedian Doc Vikela take over at 10AM where they will host the Zi World Chart Show with DJ Munya.

Former Big Brother Africa Housemates — Elikem Kumordzie, Pokello Nare, Roki and Munya Chidzonga as well as the comical duo of PO Box, comedian — Carl Joshua Ncube, social commentator Thomas “CST” Chizhanje, musicians Adiona Maboreke, Peekay and dancehall artistes — Killer T, Guspy Warrior and Sniper Storm join Zi-Judgment Yard’s DJ Too Bad and chanter Abisha Palmer at 2PM for the Zi dancehall Empire.

ZiFM Stereo programmes manager — Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa said: “We, as ZiFM Stereo are giving radio back to the very people who make radio what it is; the artistes.

“Who and what would any of us be without a beat — a song — an anthem? It’s half a life without music!”

This year’s World Radio Day is being celebrated under the theme “Radio in times of emergency and disaster”.
