This Saturday, Inhouse Media in collaboration with Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN), will broadcast the drama series Intab’enkulu at the Ster-Kinekor cinemas in Bulawayo, with the lead actor, Greatjoy Hlatshwayo guaranteeing that it will be out of this world.

The drama will premiere at 5:30PM and thereafter, it will start showing on ZTN on a date yet to be advised.

Hlatshwayo portrays Mgcini Nyoni, a 19-year-old teenager from a low-income family who has remarkable football prowess.

“The production is a drama series that will be airing on ZTN (DStv channel 294). It’s about a small mining township called Chisomo where people hustle every day for a living.

The heart of the story happens in a scary mountain where it’s believed that people disappear or die when they go there. So, everything in the drama revolves around that mystery and its sacredness.

“I play Mgcini Nyoni, 19, the son of Makhosana, passionate about football.

The community truly believes he will represent the national team sometime in the future. Mgcini is from a poor family and my father tries by all means, through mining to make a living for the family,” Hlatshwayo said.

He said his role in the drama series was a challenging one as he did not have much time to prepare for it.

“This role was definitely challenging as I had to prepare for it in a short space of time because they did the casting call a few hours before the shoot began for the main character.

Other cast members were already in camp. However, I worked intensely on my character to bring the best of it.”

The actor said he worked alongside other amazing actors and actresses from Zambia and Zimbabwe including Percy Soko, Katongo Mutale, Jacob Mafukeni, Panashe Chikomba, Sam Malete and Paul Zibgowa.

“Our director Kuda Bryan Bwititi made sure that this project is unique, refreshing, and certainly one to look out for, Hlatshwayo said.

The multi-talented artiste said he aims to get international recognition in his career.

“My aim is to get global recognition as I’m an actor, thespian, musician, dancer, choreographer, TV and radio presenter, MC and a model who’s surging in the entertainment space.”

Hlatshwayo’s acting talent has seen him feature on various stage plays and television productions, including Sibahle Nje on ZBCtv, The Real Chauvinist, The Queen and Rockville, Skeem Saam and Indlalifa The Heir among many others.
