“The people are cruel towards our industry and that hinders development. Corporates are not willing to invest as they see it as a form of entertainment only and not a proper industry,” he said.
He said the actors, actresses and filmmakers were making films on a part-time basis since they were getting peanuts in return for their efforts.
Sandifolo said there was no unity of purpose among the filmmakers to bring about the positive change that is needed.
The electronics engineer reiterated that being in the film industry was just but a sacrifice at the end.
“Some of us are driven by the passion for acting more than anything else that is why we stay. People need to learn to be more tolerant and develop a positive attitude.
“That is what will take us forward and a simple solution is to flood the market with productions.
“Mass production will also help especially if the filmmakers do not over-price their merchandise.
Sandifolo has been on an upward trend in his career since debuting as the lead actor in award-winning series “Tiriparwendo”.
Since then he has attracted the attention of other filmmakers who have enlisted him for other leading roles in “Gupuro”, “Akanga Nyimo” and “Playing Warriors” among others.
