FILMMAKER and video producer Dumisani Dube, better known as Boss Director, has set himself a target to penetrate the international music and video charts following an extraordinary run of releases of music videos that have captured nationwide attention and cemented his reputation as a leading creative force in the country.
Within months, Boss Director has directed a series of high-profile productions, including Ndokudai NeMoyo and Daka by Jnr Spragga, Yowerere Remix by Scrip Mula featuring Baba Harare, Voltz JT, Bagga and Madedido, Ndipe Hutsi by Bagga, Gucci & Dior by Saint Floew and Ndiyani Asingade by Baba Harare, which are currently shaking the music industry.
Several of these productions have appeared on Zimbabwe’s YouTube trending charts, with Ndokudai NeMoyo and Yowerere Remix among the music videos recognised on public tracking services.
In an interview, Boss Director said his attention to detail is a key component which is driving him to keep producing top-quality videos, and his next goal is to penetrate the international markets with his releases.
“Our music industry is evolving, and for us to penetrate the international market, we have to keep producing top-quality videos, and I am happy and satisfied that we are moving in the right direction.
“My team and I are working hard to produce top videos that have the potential to shake the international music scene, so our goal is for our productions to dominate different charts on the continent and beyond, just like what South Africans and Nigerians are doing,” he said.
With cinematic storytelling, premium colour grading, innovative camera work, and groundbreaking visual effects, Boss Director has established a distinctive visual style that continues to shape the look and feel of modern Zimbabwean music videos.
As collaborations with some of Zimbabwe’s biggest artists continue to expand, Boss Director Films is setting new creative benchmarks and reinforcing its position at the forefront of the country’s music video industry.
Boss Director is also known for producing Natty O’s Too Much video and Healer featuring ExQ, which were hits in 2025.
