VICTORIA FALLS-based music outfit Flying Bantu is set to share the stage with some of Africa’s biggest music stars when they perform at the Econet Buddie Beatz concert, a high-energy celebration that will cap off the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon weekend on July 5.

The popular local group will represent the resort city’s vibrant arts scene at the concert, which will also feature South African Afro-pop legends Mafikizolo, Zimbabwean dancehall superstar Winky D, and top DJs Sfiso, CeeJay and Chiweddar.

For Flying Bantu, the performance presents an opportunity to showcase Victoria Falls talent before thousands of local and international visitors expected to descend on the tourism hub for the marathon weekend.

Known for their energetic performances and unique fusion of African rhythms and contemporary sounds, Flying Bantu have become one of Victoria Falls’ most recognisable musical exports. Their inclusion in the star-studded line-up reflects the growing prominence of homegrown artistes in major national events hosted in the city.

The Econet Buddie Beatz concert forms part of activities surrounding the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon, which has evolved into one of Zimbabwe’s premier sporting and tourism events, attracting runners and visitors from across the country and beyond.

Set against the backdrop of the majestic Victoria Falls, the concert is expected to add to the festive atmosphere that has become synonymous with marathon weekend, while providing a platform for local artistes to perform alongside established regional stars.

With thousands of visitors expected in Victoria Falls for the marathon weekend, organisers believe the concert will further cement the city’s reputation as a leading destination for sport, tourism and entertainment.
