ZIMBABWE’S tennis stars, Benjamin and Courtney Lock have been having a difficult time at the Ambato La Gran Ciudad which is also known as the Ambato Challenger tournament at Club Tungurahua in Ecuador which began on Sunday.
The one-week long tournament has seen Courtney Lock lose one match out of two played while his brother, Benjamin had his last fixture against Argentina’s Facundo Juarez suspended.
Courtney, began his journey with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Ecuador’s Patricio Alvarado in the qualifiers round on the opening day to progress to the next round.
The round of 32 match which was played on Monday however did not go well for the 26-year old Courtney despite a good start, winning the first set against Peru’s Conner Huertas del Pino.
His brother had his last 32 match suspended after just the first round in which he had taken a 6-4 lead. The match between Sean Cuenin from France and Andres Andrade from the United States of America was also interrupted.
