Louis Mhlanga lifts Zimbabwe’s flag high

JAZZ maestro Louis Mhlanga is making waves in South Africa where he is being treated like a king.
The “Distant Lover” hit-maker hailed the jazz community for their support last weekend when he performed at Kings Kraal in Bryanston, Gauteng.

He shared the stage with bass guitarist Michael Phillips, percussionist Basi Mahlasela and drummer Rob Watson.

“What a night! I am still buzzing from last Friday’s incredible show at Kings Kraal,” said Mhlanga in a post.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to have shared the stage with the talented young musician KBEE, who absolutely wowed the audience! Huge thanks to my amazing supporting musicians: Michael Phillips, Basi Mahlasela and Rob Watson

“Your talent and energy brought the house down. Also, massive thanks to the incredible photographer, Phenyo Mafojane, for capturing these special moments.”

The positive feedback comes at a time when CNN has been profiling him and his music under the programme African Voice Change Makers

On August 3, Mhlanga will travel to Eswatini for another performance.

“The movement continues…We are taking the energy to the Kingdom of Eswatini,” he said in another post.

“I am thrilled to announce my performance at the Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival on August 3rd. Join me for an unforgettable experience as we bring the rhythm and vibes to the beautiful landscapes of Eswatini!

Mhlanga is one of the top Zimbabwean musicians who have settled well in South Africa.
