Relationships
LOVE does not want to see you deceived, hurt, in pain or in agony so love always tells the truth as it knows that the truth liberates. The truth liberates both the person telling it as well as the person being told the truth. Where there is liberation, there is peace, joy, happiness and a lot of rejoicing.
If you genuinely love someone, you will be sure to tell them the truth, you will not manipulate the truth, neither will you deceive them with lies but you will tell them the truth as it is simply because you love them. When you love someone you are transparent with them, you do not deceive them, and neither do you lead them to believe that which is false.
One of the foundational principles of love is honesty. Honesty is an attribute of truth. Lack of truth in relationships has been one of the biggest contributors to the breakdown of relationships. If someone lied to you and led you to believe that which is false, you will not take kindly to it as soon as you discover you have been lied to. In the same vein, if you lie to someone, they will not take kindly to it once they discover you lied to them. The fact that if you are lied to you will not take kindly to the lies or to the one who lied, is an element that shows that where there are lies there is no rejoicing.

Where there is no truth, there is no trust and a relationship with no trust hangs by a thread. The thread can snap at any moment and so can the relationship. This is evidence of the lack of joy in lies. The opposite is however, true when it comes to the truth in relationships. Truth builds a sense of confidence and a kind of security.
A relationship founded on truth cannot be shaken, it cannot easily be broken. It is the kind of relationship that can withstand and resist trials as truth is the power that keeps it together.
Owing to its confidence building nature, truth brings joy and rejoicing in relationships. In a relationship where truth is dominant, you feel at peace, you feel at ease, you can easily converse and laugh without subconsciously thinking you are being lied to.
In your marriage, when your spouse informs you that they are working late, what is the first thought that comes to your mind? Do you suddenly cringe at the thought in fear that your spouse is up to no good and is not being honest with you or do you trust what your spouse says and do not have any suspicions as to the reason he or she will be home late. If your first response is to cringe and suspect your spouse of all sorts, that shows there is lack of trust in the relationship which is indicative of lack of truth in the relationship.
However, if you are at ease and have no sinister or frightening thoughts concerning your spouse, that is indicative of a relationship built on the truth.
If your child has made a habit of lying to you, it becomes difficult for you to trust them.
However, if your child is a truthful child, trusting them is a no-brainer. A relationship between a parent and a truthful child is quite intimate as compared to a relationship between a parent and an untruthful child. The same applies to a relationship between a child and a truthful parent and a child and untruthful parent.
A child that has a truthful parent does not only trust them but is able to confide in them and this deepens the child-parent relationship.
In business, if you lack truthfulness, people will shy away from doing business with you. I saw a businessperson lose credibility on a WhatsApp platform.
This person advertised services and was contracted by a number of people for the services. The person failed to deliver to a number of his clients who then discovered he was an untruthful businessperson. Furthermore the person also had difficulties reimbursing the deposits that had been paid by clients in the group. A number of people expressed their disappointment with the business and this caused the businessperson to lose a lot of prospective clients.
In the workplace if you are truthful being, you are easily entrusted with a lot of responsibility. However, if you are not truthful, your management and colleagues will always find means to take responsibility away from you, which is not a good thing at all as it may lead to the termination of your work contract if you are not truthful.
Truth therefore brings security, confidence as well as peace and where these are found, there is definitely joy and rejoicing. Love, because of its nature, definitely promotes truth because love delights in joy, rejoicing and well-being of others.
