“I can confirm that I am likely to leave Shabanie and it could be sooner rather than later but I will not reveal the club as it might jeopardise our negotiations,” said Masomere.
“I have been here to pay back the support I got from the Shabanie Mine fans when I was banned.
“The fans here like me and there was no better way to thank them besides making sure that their team survives relegation.
“I do not have a contract with Shabanie Mine and if I die my children can suffer and I have to secure my life.
“I know it will be a bitter pill to swallow to the Shabanie Mine fans but in football we are not employed to stay for life. You can get fired the next day and life has to go on.”
Shabanie official, Nephiel Rugara, said they have a contract that is only waiting for the coach’s signature.
“We prepared a contract for him and there is one area which he wanted us to change and we basically did that but he has not been coming to sign the contract,” said Rugara.
“We have tried to persuade him to come but he has been promising that he would sign and up to now he has not turned up.
“Just for the record Masomere is insured because he is a mine employee. The company is even responsible for paying school fees for his children according to his grade but it’s just a pity that the company is facing financial challenges but the truth is we need him.”
Masomere was FC Platinum’s first choice, to take over as coach at the beginning of this season, but he couldn’t move on because of the ban.
