The man faced indecent assault charges

A LUPANE man (33) was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for raping and impregnating his niece (15).
In a statement on X the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said: “The rape incident occurred in January 2023 when the accused person asked the complainant to fetch water and bring it home to him. When she brought the water to him he forcibly took her to his bedroom, undressed her, and raped her.”
The incident took a year to come to light after the victim had given birth when she reported the sexual assault to the police on 6 February 2024.
