Lupane State University students gift essentials to Mpofu Primary

DRIVEN by a profound desire to enact positive change within their community, the Lupane Adventist Students Association (LASA), a dynamic student organisation at Lupane State University (LSU), recently undertook a charitable initiative. With a dedicated focus on bolstering the educational and personal development of young pupils, the association generously donated vital supplies, including sanitary pads, pens, and exercise books, to Mpofu Primary School.

The sincere act of benevolence not only elicited smiles from the delighted recipients but also vividly illustrated the association’s unwavering commitment to empowering the future generation of leaders and agents of change.

Mpofu Primary School, which is in Lupane district of Matabeleland North province, holds a distinguished position as one of the leading primary schools in the region. The school is officially recognised and registered by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MoPSE).

Brighton Moyo, a teacher at the school, expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards LASA for their generous donation of educational resources and personal care items for their pupils.

He commended LASA’s kindness and unwavering dedication to supporting the educational journey of their learners, emphasising that the donated items will significantly enhance the children’s academic progress and overall well-being.

“We are genuinely thankful to LASA for its kindness and generosity. These donations will make a substantial difference in the lives of our learners and we are deeply appreciative of their support,” said Moyo.

Perseverance Ndlovu, LASA president and a final-year student pursuing an Honours degree in Agricultural Economics, said that the student association initiated a project, themed “A Helping Hand,” to support pupils in need at Mpofu Primary School.

“In collaboration with fellow students and the wider university community, this initiative proved to be a resounding success.

“We successfully donated stationery to 38 pupils, with each student receiving two pens and ten exercise books. Additionally we provided sanitary pads to 19 pupils,” he said. — @Lo7246Lovelyn
