Mablanyo wary of Chicken Inn

DYNAMOS coach, Lloyd Chigowe has underlined the vital importance of his team performing at the highest level to secure a positive result against fierce competitors Chicken Inn at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) has scheduled two matches during the international break, with Ngezi Platinum Stars taking on Hwange at Baobab Stadium on Saturday.

The two scheduled matches are primarily due to Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum’s involvement in Caf club tournaments.
Chigowe is acutely aware of the challenge that Chicken Inn poses, particularly following Dynamos’ recent 1-2 defeat to CAPS United in a fiercely contested Harare Derby last Sunday.

“Chicken Inn always give us problems and it’s never an easy game. They’re more dangerous when they’re down,” Chigowe said.
DeMbare will be missing key players such as striker Sydney Urikhob (injury), Freddy Alick (suspended), Emmanuel Jalai (national team duty) and Emmanuel Paga.

“Their absence is beyond our control, but we have 30 registered players. We’ll work with what’s available,” he said.
Chicken Inn sit one point above Dynamos on the league table in eighth place, with the two teams set to clash in their 24th league meeting on Sunday.

While Chicken Inn have seven wins, nine draws and seven losses against DeMbare, the previous meeting between the two sides ended in a goalless draw.

Dynamos have historically scored 22 goals against Chicken Inn, who have netted 20 times. Last season, DeMbare secured a 2-1 win at the National Sports Stadium and a 2-0 victory at Barbourfields Stadium. But the victor of Sunday’s match will have little time to rest, as both teams will be back in action on Wednesday, with Dynamos facing

Yadah Stars at the same venue in their outstanding Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final tie. The winner will take on Manica Diamonds in the semi-finals of the knock-out competition. Meanwhile, the other semi-final will see Ngezi Platinum take on the winners of the disciplinary hearing pending announcement for Simba Bhora or Highlanders.

Highlanders contested a penalty decision made by suspended referee Cecil Gwezera and his assistant Zondzi Ngosana in their match against Simba Bhora at Wadzanayi Stadium in Shamva.

Video evidence clearly showed that the penalty decision was wrong as the said infringement was committed outside the box, but the verdict is still pending.

As the weekend is a Fifa calendar one, only outstanding matches have been scheduled to take place.
