AS preparations for the Family Fun Day reached their final stages, Mabvuku High School transformed into a canvas of creativity.
The vibrant colours of freshly painted murals adorned the walls, depicting scenes of student achievements and community spirit.
In an interview with the school head, Dr Josiah Mbirimi, he said preparations are at an advanced stage with students already in mood.
He said the Family Fun Day will be held on May 26.
“Art students worked tirelessly, painting banners that celebrated the school’s 50 years of excellence. Each brushstroke told a story, reflecting the pride and passion that flowed through the halls.”
“In the art room, students crafted handmade decorations, cutting colorful paper into shapes that would soon decorate the event space,” he said.
Dr Mbirimi said the atmosphere is electric, with the scent of paint and creativity filling the air.
“Under the guidance of their art teacher, they collaborated on a large mural that would be unveiled during the event, symbolising unity and growth.” He added that the event will feature activities such as sports competitions, photo booth and memory wal, tug of war, horse riding, quad biking, and colour run among others.
“Students will set up interactive art stations where attendees could create their own masterpieces. Clay will be molded into unique shapes, and canvases awaited eager hands ready to paint. A lot of activities will take place,” he said.
Dr Mbirimi said the Family Fun Day is a testament to creativity and community.
“It is not just an event but a celebration of the arts that would inspire generations to come.”
