Mabvuku-Tafara urged to vote for development

THE revolutionary party ZANU PF’s leadership has been in Mabvuku-Tafara Constituency this week where they rallied the people to vote for Cde Pedzai Sakupwanya in tomorrow’s by-election, to ensure rapid development of the area.

The Mabvuku-Tafara Constituency by-election arose after CCC interim secretary-general Mr Sengezo Tshabangu recalled Mr Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi, who had ceased to be a member of the party.

ZANU PF spokesperson Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa said voters have a great opportunity tomorrow, to correct the mistake they made of voting for a CCC candidate during the August 23 and 24 general elections.

“You have had years of neglect and poor service provision while the ruling party has a blueprint that is focused on making Harare a world class city,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.

“What Scott (Sakupwanya) is doing is exactly what the President expects. Towns are not there for housing alone.

“When the opposition got into power they were focused on accommodation, which is not the case always and they began stealing land. Land barons are all over. Here (in Mabvuku) irregular settlements are prevalent.

“The opposition doesn’t realise that urban areas are for industrial growth, which has slowed down here. Choose a leader who can restore that.”

ZANU PF’s Cde Sakupwanya will battle it out with CCC’s Mr Kufahakutizwi.

Mr Kufahakutizwi has been accused by voters in Mabvuku-Tafara of ignoring the constituency once he is voted into office.

From 2018 to this year’s harmonised elections, Mr Kufahakutizwi was a councillor in the area but failed to deliver anything tangible.

A number of voters in the area dumped the disintegrating outfit in favour of the ruling ZANU PF which they said was development oriented, unlike the CCC whose members have a primary focus of looting State land removing all businesspeople running shops and bottle stores, replacing them with their friends.

Some CCC councillors are now running bottle stores they grabbed from ordinary residents, while in some cases, they demand rentals after claiming to have withdrawn their offer letters.
