MACHETE GANG DENIED BAIL: Terror gangsters face long jail stretch Locked

FIVE machete-wielding gangsters accused of terrorising Killarney and Parklands have been denied bail by the High Court in Bulawayo.

Mpho Ncube, Thabani Zondo, Thembalani Sibanda, Ashoton Ncube, and Shelton Ngwenya face six charges, including armed robbery and malicious damage to property. Magistrate Mark Dzira ruled them a flight risk after they gave detectives false addresses and warned that their crimes carried heavy jail terms – up to 20 years.

The gang allegedly smashed Zibusiso Zondo’s Honda Fit and raided multiple homes on 29 July, stealing property and leaving a trail of destruction. Police investigations led by Homicide detectives quickly tracked them down.

The suspects are remanded in custody until 22 September when their trial begins.
