Machete-wielding gang up for murder

Police have launched a manhunt for six suspects on allegations of killing a man they accused of assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
The suspects assaulted Lovemore Ngwenya (30) with machetes following an argument.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

“Police in Zvishavane are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of six suspects who are being sought in connection with a case of murder which occurred on August 17, 2024, near Mandava Bus Terminus in Zvishavane,” he said.

“The suspects assaulted Lovemore Ngwenya with machetes after accusing him of assaulting a 14-year-old female juvenile for unknown reasons.

“The victim died upon admission at a Zvishavane hospital. Two of the six suspects have only been identified as Donny and Enthel. Anyone with information can report at the nearest police station.”

Meanwhile, police in Kwekwe have arrested Felix Chingama (46) in connection with a murder case that occurred at Village Kombora, Silobela, on August 17, 2024.

The suspect struck his uncle, Prosper Munanzvi (55), with a brick once on the head and then hit him with a log all over the body.

Chingama had accused Munanzvi of having an affair with his wife.

The victim died on the spot.
