MAD ABOUT THE BOY

BRIAN MADJO’s Super Cup showcase has England fans convinced he can be the successor to Harry Kane for the Three Lions.

Madjo, 17, scored against Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in his competitive debut for Aston Villa.

And now fans around the country are convinced the 6ft 4in teenager could grow into a world – class talent to finally solve England‘s fears around being able to move on from one of the game’s best attackers.

Despite the quality of the opposition, Madjo carved out a number of good chances that went begging, before finally getting on the scoresheet with an instinctive finish on the stroke of half-time.

Fans wrote on X while watching his performance: “Brian Madjo is going to be some player, 17 years old and he’s equalised against PSG for Aston Villa. We have our Harry Kane replacement.”

Madjo’s career has followed a bizarre trajectory so far, and even the ability for the Enfield-born star to play for England was briefly in question.

The 2009-born forward moved to Luxembourg at a young age with his family.

His father is Guy Madjo, a former Cameroon youth international who enjoyed spells with a number of English clubs including Crawley Town and Shrewsbury, as well as stints in China and Thailand.

Young Madjo began playing his football in Luxembourg, before making the switch to the academy of French side Metz in 2023 – Sun.
