WHEN the late Rev Joel Maphosa passed on in 2020, some thought it was going to mark the end of Abantwana BeNsindiso Yama Nazaretha music.

Little did they know that he had already prepared for the inevitable fate and had groomed his wife Thabiso Moyo aka MaDewa to take over.

Picking up pieces from its founder, the group now boasts three albums with the fourth, Ngiyavuma Nkosi, set to be launched before month-end.

MaDewa and Lady P

The launch is set for 12 Nations Nazareth Church in Njube.

The group has been doing wonders on radio and this has been through the tutelage of Dr Gasolo who is its manager.

MaDewa said the upcoming album features Princess Hluphe aka Lady P who is part of the group. Other featured artistes are maskandi sensation Bhamuza and Philani Donga, the lead singer of Great Stars Injongosi – a multi-award-winning Imbube outfit.

“The album has tracks, Emabandleni, Kudala Ngizula, Ndodana kaDavida, Ngisemathandweni, Smakade, Vuma, Siyabonga, Sekuyabonakala Jehovah, Vhangeli, Birthday and Wedding.

“As a way of saying thank you to the people who’ve been supportive of the brand, there’ll be a big launch where the album will be sold at affordable prices so as to accommodate everyone. The idea behind the indoor launch is to thank everyone for the continued support as MaDewa and Abantwana BeNsidiso Yama Nazaretha wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for the unwavering support from the people around them,” said MaDewa.

She said the 12-track album will be sold using three packages, bronze (comprising of the new CD and three previous CDs), silver (comprising the new CD and a memory card with all the MaDewa and Abantwana be Nsindiso albums), and gold package (New CD + memory card with all MaDewa and Abantwana BeNsindiso Albums + a MaDewa and Abantwana BeNsindiso t-shirt). – @mthabisi_mthire
