South African comedian and actor, Vuyo Mgudlwa popularly known as Madluphuthu failed to turn up for a family fun day in Plumtree after he missed his flight to Bulawayo, disappointing youths who had gathered to meet the star. Event organiser, Handsome Sibanda said the event had been rescheduled and will now take place on Saturday.
“Madluphuthu missed his flight. However, he’s promised to visit the border town on Friday.
“Upon arrival, he’ll go to schools apologising to children who were looking forward to meeting him.
“On Saturday, we’ll hold a family fun day and an after-party which he’ll attend,” Sibanda said.
Youngsters had turned out in large numbers at Allan Redfern last Saturday in the accompaniment of adults who also wanted to catch a glimpse of the comedian. The family fun day went on as scheduled with the crowd enjoying a number of games and entertainment activities that were lined up. The after-party also went as scheduled at 4Js Sports Bar.
Sibanda said the visit by Madluphuthu was part of efforts to introduce kids-oriented entertainment in the border town.
Madluphuthu’s manager, Teddy Mlenzana assured the Plumtree community that the comedian was coming to Zimbabwe.
