SPANISH giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are circling around Erling Haaland and several of his Manchester City team-mates.
The Etihad giants face an uncertain future after it emerged they have been found guilty of widespread financial rule breaches.
A huge points deduction which would condemn them to certain relegation is one possibility.
And that would put a huge question mark over their biggest stars. That includes superstar striker Haaland even though he has around eight years still to run on his contract at the Etihad.
Barca are looking to sign a new No9 to replace Robert Lewandowski and have cooled their interest in another ex-City forward, Julian Alvarez.
Madrid will also closely monitor Haaland’s situation – although they currently have Kylian Mbappe as their main forward. The Bernabeu hierarachy love a ‘Galactico’ though.
And there is already talk about how they could fit two of the world’s top forwards into the same team.
Reports in Spain also say Madrid also have Josko Gvardiol, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Elliot Anderson, Enzo Fernandez and Rayan Cherki on their radar.
However, even if the worst happens to City, they will still demand decent fees for their stars as few if any are believed to have relegation clauses.
Former Barcelona ace Gaizka Mendieta says both the Spanish giants will be interested in signing Haaland.
The Norwegian has never made any secret of his love of Spain and even owns a holiday home there.
Mendieta said: “Haaland’s future is interesting.
“Let’s see how things pan out at Man City. But players like him want to win trophies.
“In terms of where I see him, I could imagine him at both Madrid and Barca. However, I sense that Barca’s style would be better for him, and perhaps better for the club too.” – Sun
