A 21-year-old woman claims she has been repeatedly raped at a shrine in Budiriro since July last year.
The woman was ordered to stay at the shrine for healing sessions.
She allegedly claims Madzibaba Enock, real name Hebert Senda, raped her on a number of occasions.
Madzibaba Enock is the leader of Johane Masowe Yechishanu, Nyenyedzi Nomwe Sect, based in Budiriro 4, Harare.
At one time the woman claims that she was led by another female church member to a lodge in town where she was raped and threatened with death if she disclosed the abuse.
“I went to Madzibaba Enock’s shrine to seek spiritual healing since I was not feeling well.
“From that period, I started to reside at the shrine receiving prayers.
“In July 2025, and at around 0000 hours, I was awakened by a female church member who asked me to accompany her to Madzibaba Enock’s motor vehicle, which was parked near the shrine.
“We both entered the vehicle where we found him seated alone in the vehicle.”
She added:
“I was given a soft drink and felt dizzy after consuming it.
“He drove us to an unknown lodge in the Harare Central Business District where the female church member booked a room and took me to the room.
“Madzibaba Enock remained seated in his vehicle and followed us to the room later.
“The female member then immediately left the room, leaving me and Madzibaba.
“He raped me four times without protection and threatened to kill me if I divulged the matter.”
She said the following morning he drove her back to the shrine.
“Since then, Madzibaba Enock has continued to rape me several times on different occasions whenever he gets the opportunity.
“After managing to escape and getting back my cellphone, I phoned my sister and reported the case to police,” she said.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi could not be reached for comment.
The case was reported at Budiriro Police Station under RRB 6872764.
