A month after securing a bronze medal at the Africa Strongman Continental Championships, Chido Maenzanise will return to the podium in the Musabvunda Fitness contests set for Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe this weekend.

The 27-year-old, who could not secure sponsorship for a dream World Championships set for December 1 in the United States, will be back in the local contest where she will battle it out in the strengths and power-lifting contest.

Maenzanise, whose heart bleeds for not taking her profession further due to financial challenges said the success in Zambia where she came third will help her during this weekend’s contests.

“I am now going to attend Zimbabwe Strength Wars and Power-lifting because I didn’t get enough sponsorship for World Strongman in USA. I am going to attend local competitions like the upcoming Musabvunda where I believe I will secure both gold medals in my categories.
