THE Sanctified Comedy Club, LOL Entertainment and Brand MaForty will this year embark on nationwide tours meant to promote up-and-coming comedians as well as theatre, film and spoken word artistes.
LOL Entertainment Zimbabwe will be funding the shows with Sanctified Comedy Club curating them.
In an interview, MaForty said through the club that is under new management, they will host open mic sessions for comedians and poets and have their usual comedy nights.
He said the Sanctified Comedy Club has appointed a new board that is set to implement this year’s plans.
“Sanctified Comedy Club is now run by a board that’s chaired by rapper T1nda.
Other board members are Clive Hunidzarira (Vice-Chair), Lindelwe Mgodla (Scouting and Talent Development), Yananai Mavingire (Projects and Events Planning), Gugulethu Masha (Administration), Thandi Banda (PR and Marketing) and Siphiwo Sibanda (Finance).”
MaForty said the club has also spread its wings to Harare with plans to embark on a national tour in the pipeline.
“We plan to have a national tour with up-and-coming comedians that we’re recruiting so as to promote them.
At Sanctified Comedy Club, we’re on a quest to promote not only those into comedy, but those in theatre, film and spoken word,” he said.
As Brand Maforty, the comedian said he will be hosting his popular one-man shows around the country and hopefully travel outside the country.
