Harare Mayor, Councillor Jacob Mafume, has instructed that work to spruce up the City Sports Centre should start immediately.

Chairing the 1942nd ordinary council meeting last week, Cllr Mafume said he was given a directive by President Mnangagwa.

“I was given the directive by the President when he visited the City Sports Centre,” Mayor Mafume said.

“He gave a directive that we should renovate the City Sports and that it’s an urgent issue.

“I do not want another event to be held there and there are no works that are happening. Let us start work immediately and improve the City Sports Centre. We cannot afford to keep it looking the way it is,” he said.
