Pint-sized gospel musician Sabastain Magacha is set to perform tomorrow in Chitungwiza for United Methodist Church, St Stephen circuit fundraising show. Magacha will share the stage with Chitungwiza MUMU choir, Amajaivana and Arising Shine choir among other performers. He and his new choir African Joy are expected to wow the crowd with their hit songs as they will also use the opportunity to market their live DVD which was released earlier this month.

The musician said he was happy to take part in the fundraising as this is part of his social service.

“I have been on a low profile. I have been going through a lot but I am still the Ridza Bosvo star you know. I am promising fireworks on Saturday in Chitungwiza. It is my desire to play in a Christian environment surrounded by people of the same cause. To me, this is part of community service where you have a chance to share your experience in the music sector with your fans,” he said.

The “1+1” hitmaker said he will assist the organisers in raising the funds for their church development.

“A church is made up of people, and it is also our duty as musicians to play a part in developing the church through their music which is also a form of praying, praising and funding. I will not only sing but will also interact with the fans, Chitungwiza is like my second home as I have been holding many shows in the town,” he said.

In an interview event organiser Samuel Mhaka said all is ready for the show.

“We want to raise $80 000 which will be used to purchase a bus for the circuit. We have a lined up a programme with a guest list which include stakeholders, companies, churches, youth groups and business entities. I am happy so far with the response. The event will start in the morning and end around 5pm,” he said.
