WALTER Magaya, the leader of Prophetic, Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries was arrested this morning in connection with several reports of rape and fraud.
In a brief but explosive statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest, saying Magaya was picked up by a police crack team in a dawn swoop.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Church leader, Walter Magaya, in connection with several reports of rape and fraud. The suspect was arrested early today by a police crack team,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
He said more details would be released once investigations progress.
Magaya, known for his high-profile church empire and luxury lifestyle, has often found himself at the centre of public scrutiny — but today’s arrest marks one of the most serious turns yet in his journey.
