DYNAMOS defender, Tendai Magwaza, seems to be maturing with age.
The 21-year-old, who also came through DeMbare’s junior ranks two seasons ago, is furthering his education while getting better on the field of play.
Magwaza is now waiting for the results of his Diploma in Marketing and Management at Centre for Development Studies.
The giant defender has been Frank Makarati’s understudy in this campaign and he has been a notable absentee in the team’s match day squad in the past three weeks owing to his commitment to collage exams.
Magwaza was motivated to prepare for his post-football life by the statistics on footballers who struggle with life once they retire.
“It is something which I always wanted as a kid before I even became a professional footballer, I always wanted a better life after football.
“No one knows what the future holds for us but I just chose to start preparing for life now while I still have the chance. I’m also grateful to this club for allowing me to further my studies especially the coaches.
“I’m now almost done with this programme and it has been very challenging for me to get this course done because at Dynamos you have to be at your best all the times,” said Magwaza.
Magwaza also urged his peers to make use of the opportunities they get while they are still active in the field.
“As players we all dream of making a foreign breakthrough but not everyone will get that golden chance.
“This means that we should learn to make use of the least chances that we get to make positive moves that will guarantee us a better life when we are done with football.
“I also want to urge every player to find something which they can do after football to avoid handouts.
“I chose marketing because I think there are more opportunities in this area and I also have passion in this field.”
