RHUMBA sensation Clement Magwaza has expressed excitement ahead of his performance at the 2025 Heroes Gala, revealing that he and his band, Macrey Super Sounds, have been working tirelessly in rehearsals to deliver an unforgettable show.

Set for tomorrow at Kujeke Growth Point, Hwedza District, Mashonaland East, the gala will be a vibrant blend of seasoned and emerging talent, as Zimbabwe comes together to honour its fallen and living liberation heroes through music, poetry, and dance.

Magwaza said the gala is a significant platform for artistes and a proud moment in his career.

“Being on the Heroes Gala stage is a dream for many artistes across the country, and being selected is a great honour,” he said.

“Since it’s a national event, I’ll also use the opportunity to preview some of the new tracks I’m working on. This is a day to celebrate and honour our heroes and heroines, so I call on every Zimbabwean, wherever they are in the world, to join us — physically or online, as we celebrate this momentous occasion.”

At the gala, Magwaza will share the stage with a star-studded line-up including Andy Muridzo, Mark Ngwazi, Chief Hwenje, Mathias Mhere, Shantel Sithole, Sasha Madhuve, Jah Master, Jeys Marabini, Mechanic Manyeruke, Enzo Ishall, Simon Mutambi, the ZPCS Band, Tendai Dembo, Mr Gray, Mainato, and Ndunge Yut. Also taking to the stage will be Mashonaland East-based artistes, Jungle Fox, Josphat Somanje, Kadiki and Van Chichi, Del Roy, and Mutokwe and Sons, in keeping with the tradition of promoting local talent.

The Heroes Gala, a key part of the annual commemorations, promises to draw revellers from across the country for a night of celebration, remembrance, and artistic expression.

The event will be hosted by a dynamic team of presenters: Tatenda Chinoda, Kanyemba Bhonzo, Lucy Ngosolo, Edias “Mafight” Sibanda, and Thabani Gambiza.
