Clement Magwaza, one of the candidates for the title of Zimbabwe’s rhumba king, has begun work on his 14th album.

It has become customary for Gwazo, as he is affectionately called, to release an album each year during the last few years.

Since he has been performing for the past 20 years, Gwazo has developed into the most in-demand rhumba musician in the Southern African region.

The well-known rhumba singer and dancer was interviewed by Chronicle Showbiz.

“I am working on my 14th album titled Hamba Phambili and as per usual I am planning to launch the album here in Zimbabwe, Botswana and even South Africa in mid-November.

“In this album l talk about the importance of ensuring that we are in close and constant communication with our roots. It has become the tradition that people only tend to follow their roots when things are not rosy and that should change,” said Gwazo.

The Kokotsha hit maker last year released the album Ebenezer which continues to be a darling to man.
