Dumisani Dlamini (37) from Mahatshula suburb in Bulawayo must be blaming himself for his high appetite for beer.

This was after he allegedly smashed a window and got into a nightclub before boozing an assortment of alcohol till he got intoxicated. He was caught clutching a quart bottle the following morning.

For the offence, Dlamini appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Evia Matura facing charges of unlawful entry and theft. He pleaded not guilty to both counts. He was remanded in custody on 17 June.

The court heard that last Thursday, Dlamini went to Boulevard Nightclub in the North End Suburb, and upon arrival, he used an iron bar to smash a window and got inside. While inside, Dlamini allegedly served himself with whisky and other brands of alcohol till he got intoxicated. When the bartender arrived for duty the following day, he found Dlamini lying on the floor clutching a quart bottle.

After that, the bartender reported the matter to the police leading to his arrest. The bartender then carried out a stock take and discovered that an assortment of alcohol worth US$52 was missing.
