Mahendere to shutdown 2023 in style

Seasoned gospel musician Minister Michael Mahendere is set to end this year in style by hosting a solo concert today at 7 Arts Theatre dubbed “Tangai Neni Outcry Experience”.

The concert that emanated from the demands of fans, is expected to quench the thirst of gospel music lovers as they will be serenaded by Mahendere and the Direct Worship Team.

In an interview, Mahendere told The Herald Arts that he was excited to be offering the best music experience to his legions of fans. 

“I am very excited to be leading gospel music lovers into intense worship and deep praise experience as we will be celebrating life and thanking God for his love and kindness throughout this year,” he said. 

The “Tangai Neni” hit-maker has promised to deliver the best as his song list will compromise of some of the finest songs from Getting Personal With God Volume (GPWG) 1 to 4 as well as the Classical Worship albums. 

“As a band we value the feedback that we get from our fans and stakeholders. We felt that it was ideal to offer them something special as we come to the end of the year,” said Mahendere. “All is set for the show to kick off, and doors will be opened to the public as early as 4pm.”

Reflecting on the year 2023, Mahendere appreciated God for all the accolades he bagged. 

“Through the year, God was so faithful to us as a team,” he said. “We bagged more than three awards in music categories. It shows how much our music is being appreciated out there and it’s positively impacting peoples’ lives.” 

His brand continued to grow during the course of the year, earning him numerous international shows in countries like the United Kingdom, United States, Scotland and South Africa, among others. 

Recently, he shared the stage with renowned South African gospel musician Benjamin Dube at a show that was hosted by Harvest House International at the Harare International Conference Centre.

Mahendere was also part of the adjudicating team at the Clash of 23 Hub Choirs, which was held in Bulawayo last weekend together with Dube and Dr Lindelani Mkhize.
