Mai Jeremaya assailants found not guilty

Harare regional magistrate Letwin Rwodzi has acquitted the two men accused of raping social media influencer Ashley Mai Jeremaya Masendeke.

The two, Thabo Blessing Dube and Martin Charlie, were acquitted after a full trial.

Magistrate Rwodzi ruled that Mai Jeremaya was an active consenting participant in a paid sexual encounter and her evidence was marred with inconsistencies.

She ruled that the State failed to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt and the duo’s defence was consistent, plausible and a conviction would be unfair and unjust.
