Mai Keketso thanks influencers

AFRO-fusion contemporary artist Kudzai Andrew Ngwenya, popularly known as Andy Muridzo, has turned to social media to seek counselling from activists and sympathisers amid his ongoing dispute with his estranged wife, Mai Keketso.

On his social media page, Andy appealed to well-wishers to help bring peace and help resolve the situation with his ex-wife, Chido Manyange, popularly known as Mai Keketso. He also noted that he has obtained a Peace Order from the courts.

Andy Muridzo further accused Mai Keketso of joining commercial sex workers to survive. He also alleged that she had been bedding her lovers in the presence of their children, aged 9 and 11.

When contacted for comment, Mai Keketso praised several social media influencers – including Ketina, Doreen, and her mother – for counselling and assisting them through online platforms.

Mai Keketso told H-Metro that the couple had not found anyone who could guide them, correct them, and openly rebuke them during the breakdown of their marriage.

“I saw what Andy posted and I was puzzled. Thanks to people like Ketina, Doreen and her mother for counselling us through social media,” she said.

She added that Andy has allegedly failed to care for the children since 2023, when she was granted custody.

“I ended up taking back my children after Andy failed to accommodate them properly. He used to move around with them, affecting their education and emotionally. He last came to see the children five months ago, but instead of seeking help for the children, he has been going online for my assistance when we both need guidance,” she said.

Mai Keketso said Andy called her a few days earlier requesting photographs of the children. She claimed that the following day, she found those pictures posted on his social media page.

“Does that bring food to the children’s table?” she questioned.

Mai Keketso also denied allegations that she exposed herself to men at night as a way of survival.

“I questioned Andy whether he, at any point, went out during the night to hook ladies and found me among them waiting. He told one of his lieutenants that he posted that statement out of anger,” she said.

She said the situation requires counselling for both parties.

“He needs counselling, and we both need help. I never exposed my body to men with an insatiable appetite to have sex with various women, as he claimed,” Mai Keketso added.

She said she is renting a four-roomed house and that how she pays rent is not Andy’s business, urging him to be realistic and transparent.

“Andy should be real, be transparent – other than seeking attention for the wrong reasons. He must play his role as a father and appreciate my duty in looking after the children he is failing to support,” she said.

Mai Keketso further claimed that Andy had taken the children to a better school, but she said accommodation challenges affected their stability.

“I took them back to a school I can afford. Andy ngaatanhe dzaanosvikira,” she said, appealing for joint counselling sessions between herself and Andy.
