CEPHAS MASHAKADA’S widow, Eunice, has released her first six-track album titled “Let Them Talk”.
The album will be launched at ZBC Mbare Studios on Friday.
Mrs Mashakada (52) said she ventured into music to fulfil her husband’s wishes.
The songs on the album are “Madube”, “Matare”, “Waenda Samson”, “Mweya Mutsvene”, “Moyo Wangu” and “Mumureverere”.
Mai Mashakada inherited her late husband’s band The Sounds of the Muddy Face.

Last year, the group released a six-track album entitled “Shungu Dzangu”, three of them penned by the late Mashakada.
She was the lead vocalist on the track “Mira Panzvimbo” and a backing vocalist on “Jobo” and “Famba Naro Vhangeri.”

Mai Mashakada has taken over the band left by her husband which was initially headed by Shame “Chibage” Mashonganyika.
A row erupted early this year when Mai Mashakada accused Chibage of playing her husband’s songs and using the name Muddy Face without her consent.

The relationship between the two reportedly turned sour after Chibage raised concern over the 40 percent share that Eunice gets from live show income.

Chibage was Mashakada’s backing vocalist for 13 years and he took over as leader of the Muddy Face after the death of the “Samson” hitmaker.

Ever since the row, Mai Mashakada has been seen performing at functions and has managed to keep the band intact.
Mai Mashakada joins the likes of Nadine Brown, widow of Andy Brown who has taken music seriously after the demise of her husband.
