A MAID allegedly sexually abused a five-year-old boy, who had come to relieve himself in a toilet where she was taking a bath, at a house in Ruwa.
Memory Munyakwe, 25, is facing a charge of aggravated indecent assault arising from an incident allegedly committed at Phase 14, Eastview, Ruwa, on Wednesday last week. The State alleges that Memory was employed as a maid at the house where the boy lived.
It is alleged that at around 9am, on the day in question, the child went to the toilet to relieve himself while Memory was taking a bath.
The State alleges that after the boy had relieved himself, Memory allegedly indecently touched him before making sexual contact with him.
The child later went to his bedroom and disclosed the incident to his grandmother.
A report was subsequently filed at ZRP Ruwa on Monday, leading to Memory’s arrest. The boy was medically examined following the report.
Meanwhile a Harare man has appeared in court accused of raping his 15-year-old girlfriend at a Mabelreign Guest Lodge after she allegedly became dizzy and lost consciousness.
Elson Tembo appeared before Harare regional magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa charged with rape.
The State alleges that sometime in December last year, the teenager travelled to Mabelreign, Harare, to spend the holidays with her aunt.
On an unspecified day, she allegedly met Tembo while she was on her way to buy bread at the shops.
It is alleged that the two exchanged contacts and later fell in love.
Tembo allegedly invited the teenager to his workplace and the two met along Harare Drive before boarding a kombi to Mabelreign shops. The court heard that Tembo bought her Doritos and a Revive drink before they walked to a guest lodge along 2nd Avenue in Mabelreign, where he was allegedly staying.
Tembo allegedly collected keys to a room at a reception before the pair entered. The State alleges that after eating the snacks, the teenager developed a headache and informed Tembo, who went to get her a glass of water. She allegedly became dizzy and subsequently lost consciousness.
Prosecutors allege Tembo took advantage of her condition and had unprotected sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
When she regained consciousness, the teenager allegedly noticed that some of her clothes had been removed or lowered and questioned Tembo about what had happened.
She later left the lodge and allegedly began experiencing pain in her back and lower abdomen.
According to the State, she contacted Tembo seeking an explanation, but he allegedly shouted at her and told her that he was not a prophet.
The teenager initially did not disclose the alleged incident to anyone and later returned to Bulawayo.
The State alleges that after missing her menstrual periods for two months, she contacted Tembo because she suspected that she had fallen pregnant as a result of the alleged rape.
Tembo allegedly responded by shouting at her and accusing her of being a prostitute who wanted to waste his money.
She subsequently disclosed the matter to her aunt, who informed her parents, leading to a police report being made in Mabelreign.
The teenager was taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for medical examination.
Police allegedly failed to locate Tembo and placed him on the wanted persons list.
A radio message was subsequently dispatched to ZRP Chivi after police received information that he was working there, leading to his arrest on Tuesday.
