DENITH Majecha, a fitness trainer at Body Works Gym is in a celebratory mood after picking up silver in the men’s fitness at the recently held Trysupps Novice Zimbabwe bodybuilding and fitness competition. It was his first professional bodybuilding competition since joining the gym.

Majecha said that it was a tough competition as he was competing against 24 bodybuilders in the men’s fitness category and is happy with the outcome.

“The men’s fitness category saw 24 bodybuilders battling it out. I’m happy to have won silver though I wanted to win gold for Bulawayo,” said Majecha.

Over 65 bodybuilders battled it out on the stage for medals and the event was also used as a platform to urge youths to abstain from drug abuse.

The event had Senior Men’s Bodybuilding Open, Men’s Physique Open, Junior Men’s Bodybuilding Open (Under-21), Women’s Body Fitness and Men’s fitness.

Majecha shared his routines prior to the build up to the Championships.

“The first process is bulking which involves gaining weight and gaining muscle, then a month before I went to the tournament I had to cut, which simply means I had to shape my muscles and have less water in my body to show the divisions in my muscles,” said Majecha.
