Major General (RTD) Ruwodo declared National Hero

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has declared Major General (Retired) Richard Ruwodo a national hero.

The message was delivered by Minister of Defence Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri at the late national hero’s Glen Lorne residence.

Major General (Rtd) Ruwodo died on July 7 while admitted at a local hospital.

He was 72.

He will be laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre on Monday, with President Mnangagwa set to preside over the ceremony.

Mourners are gathered at House Number 92 Folyjon Crescent, Glen Lorne, Harare.
