Makoni’s former CEO in court for diverting US$17 500 to buy own house

Makoni Rural District Council’s former chief executive officer has appeared before the Mutare Magistrates Court after he bought himself a house using the Council’s Capital Development Fund (CDF).

Pius Mushaya (59) is facing charges of theft of trust property.

Mushaya was granted US$200 bail and will be back in court on February 20, 2025.

He is accused of diverting US$17 500 from the council’s CDF to purchase a house for himself when he was acting CEO in 2012.
