Three Makuhwa eBindura Reloaded WhatsApp group administrators in Bindura have appeared in court for cyberbullying.

The trio, Kudakwashe Matekwe (34), Moreblessing Nyangombe (24) and Tadiwa Chirimanyemba (21) appeared before Bindura Magistrate Mrs Joylene Mudhege facing cyberbullying and harassment charges.

They were released on bail and are expected back in court on November 28.

The prosecutor Mrs Sheila Maribha told the court that on October 29, Chirimanyemba uploaded a picture of Shorai Chitsiga on the WhatsApp group.

The picture was accompanied by a caption which read, “We are all prostitutes. At least, we are not married and we have not given anyone love portion…… they are used to having fathers take care of children which are not theirs. Bau you are using him to keep the child of Zodwa, the lineage which is cursed, you are used to checking on us young children, I wish Mitch the girlfriend of your husband would assault you.”

Mrs Maribha told the court that the message was intended to cause substantial distress or to degrade, humiliate or demean Chitsiga.

On November 8, Matekwe, in the company of Diernan Alufasi, Brian Chitumba, Munyaradzi Chakanyuka and others who are at large encouraged people to send messages that harm, degrade and expose residents who engage in extramarital affairs.

About Saymore Mhene, Nyangombe said, “I do not have data. After Mhene raped his daughter, he chased her away from home and now her life had (sic) been destroyed.”

He went on to say, “Mhene has unnatural means to have sexual intercourse without physical contact (Bluetooth). Whenever he stares at you, if you smile in response, then you are done. It is not surprising half of Bindura was assaulted by Mhene.”

Among many messages about Nyangombe wrote:
“This man is the biggest prostitute… he attends church in town leaving Chiwaridzo because he took the wife of Edmore Mushaninga of that church. It is being said that he was once arrested for raping her daughter. This man was once successful with commuter omnibuses but now he is broke.”
