Malalume Clinic gets equipped

RURAL communities have been assured they will not be left behind as Government is prioritising the provision of quality health care in outlying rural areas.

Under the Second Republic led by President Mnangagwa, a number of clinics and hospitals have been constructed across the country in order to bring services close to the people.

In Bulilima West constituency, Government has constructed Malalume Clinic which is set to be officially opened soon.

Bulilima West Constituency Member of Parliament, Cde Dingumuzi Phuti last Friday donated an array of medical equipment and sundries, ahead of the opening of the clinic.

The medical equipment consists of five beds, one digitised baby scale, two Blood Pressure checking machines, two Sugar Diabetes checking machines and 10 blankets.

The handover ceremony was attended by the clinic committee, local traditional leaders, Zanu-PF leadership and villagers.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Dr Evelyn Ndlovu who is also the Bulilima proportional representation legislator, hailed Cde Phuti for his hard work which has uplifted Bulilima.

“This gesture speaks volumes of the character of our MP Cde Phuti and we thank him for ensuring that people’s lives change for the better in Malalume and nearby villages.

“I am from this area and I will forever cherish this donation which will benefit the Malalume community,” she                                                                                                   said.

Minister Ndlovu who is the former Minister of State in the Office of Vice-President Constatino Chiwenga said she will ask the Vice-President to commission the health facility as he is also the Minister of Health and Child Care.

“Such a structure shows the good work that the Government is doing hence we will ask VP Chiwenga to open it. This facility will not only transform the health delivery services in this area but will also bring the services close to the people,” said Minister Ndlovu.

A youth from Mafeha Village Ms Sikhangele Nleya said Government and ruling party are walking the talk.
