Maluka and The Royal Band wow revellers in Bulawayo

The Bulawayo Theatre came alive on Saturday evening as Maluka and The Royal Band, a talented jazz group staged their debut live concert.
The event, which had an impressive turnout was graced by renowned artistes who included imbube outfit Indosakusa: The Morning Star, Adoe, Thuli, Jeys Marabini, and Izinja Ziyamluma.

The concert showcased the extraordinary talents of Maluka and The Royal Band as they captivated the audience with their unique blend of jazz and soulful melodies. The group, led by the talented Maluka (formerly known as Nomore Allah Sibanda), has been making waves in the local music scene and their live performance did not disappoint.

From the moment the band struck their first chord, the audience was transported into a world of enchanting melodies and infectious rhythms. The seamless fusion of instruments, including the saxophone, trumpet, piano, and drums, created a rich tapestry of sound that had the crowd swaying to the music.

Their electrifying performance, not only enthralled the audience but also inspired a display of overwhelming support. As the band belted out their soulful jazz tunes, some members of the crowd could not contain their excitement and appreciation, going as far as placing money on the stage as a gesture of admiration for the outstanding musical prowess on display.

Supporting acts, Indosakusa, Adoe and Thuli also delivered exceptional performances, setting the pace for an unforgettable night of music.
The concert not only provided a platform for local artistes to showcase their skills but also served as a testament to the vibrant jazz scene in Bulawayo. Attendees showed their unwavering support for local talent, applauding and cheering the artistes throughout the night.

As the curtains closed on a memorable evening, the audience left the Bulawayo Theatre with a sense of fulfillment, eagerly awaiting the next performance by Maluka and Royal Band.

In an interview after the show, Maluka expressed gratitude to the audience for their overwhelming support.
“Besides the delay of the show, people were very happy about the presentation and they loved the performance. Some are even suggesting that we should do this more often.

“I’m very happy with the outcome of the show as people came in their numbers. I appreciate everyone who came through to support us,” said Maluka.
The success of Maluka and The Royal Band’s debut live concert has undoubtedly solidified their position as a rising force in the jazz industry.
