Malunguza shine in Mozambique

ZIMBABWE’S Simphiwe Malunguza put up a good show at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) J30 Maputo tournament recently to walk away with the girls singles and doubles titles.

The rising star beat South Africa’ Lea Dube 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 to win the singles title.

On her way to the final, she defeated fellow-Zimbabwean Rutendo Tom 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.

She joined hands with Charlotte Perks from Great Britain to beat the pair of Joanivia Bezuidenhout and Tatum Venter in the doubles’ final.

The tournament is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors and present players aged 18 and under with the opportunity to travel the world and develop their talent.
