AHEAD of their tricky tie against CAPS United set for Rufaro Stadium on Sunday, Highlanders will be without the services of dependable duo of Malvin Sibanda and Archford Faira due to knocks that they picked over a month ago.
In their last few games, the Bosso camp has resembled a hospital casualty ward amid revelations by club head coach Kelvin Kaindu that Godfrey Makaruse and Never Rauzhi are now up and about, ready to help match the Green Machine pound for pound.
“Malvin Sibanda and Archford Faira are still out. However, one of them, Malvin with luck and grace, should be able to start training with other guys next week. We will stand guided by our team doctors. Archford will definitely be out for the next few weeks,” said Kaindu.
He also revealed that their goalkeeper Raphael Pitisi and young Prince Ndlovu have started light training and they were hoping they will be back to full fitness “soon”.
Meanwhile, the quarter final draw of the ongoing Chibuku Super Cup will be conducted on Friday in Harare where all the last eight teams will go into the hat.
The first round match between Ngezi Platinum Stars and Bulawayo Chiefs was played on Thursday after it was shelved owing to the former’s involvement in the CAF Champions League contest where their sojourn in the continent’s top-tier club race suffered a stillbirth as they were kicked out of the competition by Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) side As Maniema.
The bulk of the cup’s first round matches were played in mid-August and the quarter-final ties are scheduled for the weekend of September 21 to 22. The last four teams will meet on the weekend of October 26 to 27 and the final match will be played on November 30 at a venue yet to be announced.

PSL log leaders Simba Bhora accounted for Herentals College after a penalty lottery that ended 4-3. The two outfits had remained tied nil all in regulation time. The Glamour Boys were the 2023 Chibuku Super Cup Champions after they saw off the Ngezi Platinum challenge at Baobab Stadium.
