A 41-YEAR-OLD man, who is facing allegations of raping his estranged wife TWICE, while her boyfriend was watching at her home, has appeared in court.
Albert Tambara allegedly threatened her with a knife during a confrontation.
Tambara is accused of raping her in the early hours of September 6. The State alleges that Tambara went to his estranged wife’s home at around midnight and forced his way into her bedroom.
She was in the company of another man, who is believed to be her boyfriend. It is alleged Tambara picked up a knife and pointed it at his wife before pouring a drink over her and tearing her dress. He allegedly ordered her to perform a sexual act on him while threatening her with the knife. The State alleges that Tambara then raped her without protection. All the time, the boyfriend was being forced to watch. Tambara is accused of then ordering the boyfriend to have sexual intercourse with his estranged wife but he refused.
He then allegedly raped her for the second time. The woman was subsequently referred to hospital for medical examinations, and the medical affidavit is expected to form part of the State’s evidence.
