POLICE in Nyazura have arrested a suspect in connection with a string of cattle theft cases, leading to the recovery of seven cattle stolen from five different complainants.
The breakthrough came on July 26, following a tip-off from villagers in Gonese village, who alerted the complainants that the suspects were selling cattle in the area.
Some of the stolen livestock had reportedly been spotted.
Manicaland police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed the arrest of Charehwa Makurumidze, who later named his accomplices as Thomas Mupakame and Gibson Moyo.
Mupakame is currently serving a prison sentence for stock theft, while Moyo remains at large.
The recovered cattle were positively identified by their owners and subsequently handed back to them.
