character.Sources said the 10-year-old boy who is a pupil at Maware Primary School in Mvuma allegedly went about sodomising other boys in the village after he got hooked to anal sex.
He later became a nuisance at the school, demanding anal sex from other schoolboys, the sources alleged.
However, luck ran out for the boy when he was caught in the act and was handed over to the school head, a Mr Muzadzi.
The minor was lashed with a whip, resulting in him revealing that he was groomed into a gay by a villager, one Peter Makanhiwa.
Police instituted investigations leading to Makanhiwa’s arrest.
Makanhiwa was on Friday arraigned before Gweru magistrate Ms Florence Nago to answer to a charge of sodomy.
He was remanded in custody to 13 December for trial.
Makanhiwa was advised to apply for bail to the High Court.
For the State, Mr Michael Mhene told the court that on an unknown date but in November last year, the boy went to Mhende Village, Chief Chaka, in Mvuma to attend a funeral together with his parents.
Mr Mhene said during the night of the funeral wake, the accused shared the same bedroom hut with the boy which led to him sodomising the minor.
The court heard that the accused met the boy on several other occasions where he abused him.

Mr Mhene said the matter was only discovered recently after the headmaster of Maware Primary School where the boy is a pupil received complaints from other pupils who were now being abused by the boy.
The court heard that when the boy was queried about his behaviour, he fingered the accused for having groomed him into a gay.
The matter was reported to the police leading to Makanhiwa’s arrest.
