MAN AXED IN DISPUTE OVER SEX WORKER

A 34-year-old man from Stoneridge Park is battling for his life in hospital after he was attacked over a woman he allegedly “hooked up with” at a bar.

Godwill Murindi was drinking beer at Jimmalo Bar in Amsterdam Park, Waterfalls, with an unidentified woman he had met earlier.

According to police, an unidentified man approached Murindi accusing him of dating his girlfriend.

The suspect then sprayed him with paper spray, and used a small axe to strike Murindi once on the head.

After the attack, the suspect fled into the darkness.

In a statement, Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident.

“The complainant was attacked with an axe and sustained a deep cut on the head and was bleeding profusely,” Insp. Chakanza said.

“The accused person is on the run.”
