Man dies following assault at beer drink

A MAN died upon admission to a hospital after he was assaulted at a beer drink, following an argument.

In a statement, police said Tichaona Kanje (27) and Benny Chipiwa (18) assaulted Prosper Jonasi (35) at Cross Shopping Centre, Epworth, Harare.

“Police in Harare are investigating a case of murder which occurred on 08/04/24 at Cross Shopping Centre, Epworth. The suspects, Tichaona Kanje (27) and Benny Chipiwa (18) took turns to assault the victim, Prosper Jonasi (35) with fists and booted feet all over the body after an argument. Tichaona Kanje later hit the victim with an empty beer bottle on the arm. Subsequently, the victim died upon admission at Sally Mugabe Hospital,” reads the statement.
