A BEER-DRINKING session turned into a horror movie at Chipato Syndicate Mine Compound when a man known only as T-One allegedly went on a stabbing spree, leaving three drinking mates dead.
The blood-curdling incident happened on 14 October 2025 around 10pm. The suspect and his three victims – Innocent Mudonhi (21), Honest Shumbamhini (20) and Conrad Shumbamhini (25) were drinking beer when T-One took offence over an undisclosed issue and went wild.
“A misunderstanding arose over an unknown issue, resulting in a violent altercation,” said national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi.
Witnesses told investigators that T-One suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed Mudonhi once in the stomach, disembowelling him as his intestines spilled out. He then turned on Honest, stabbing him twice — once in the stomach and once in the right hand — before plunging the same knife into Conrad’s stomach, leaving it stuck in the wound.
“The suspect fled into the darkness, leaving the victims calling for help,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
The three were rushed to Chegutu District Hospital, but Mudonhi died upon admission. His two friends succumbed to their injuries the following day.
Police have since launched a manhunt for T-One, who is on the run.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police appeals to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect to report at any nearest police station or contact the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp 0712 800 197,” said Comm Nyathi.
Residents at the mine compound are still in shock, describing the attack as “pure evil” and calling for justice for the slain men.
The once-lively beer spot has since turned into a gory crime scene.
